Welcome the Year of the Water Dragon

As we leave behind the Rabbit Year and start a new one with resolutions and promises, what has the past year done for you? Did it benefit you financially, emotionally and kept you in good health? If it did, wouldn’t you want to continue the winning streak and if it had been a stinker, wouldn’t you want to turn your fortunes around?
We are starting to count down to the Lunar New Year on 23rd January 2012 (农历新年). This is followed by the Arrival of Spring (立春)on 4th February 2012 which marks the official arrival of the Dragon year.

The Yin Virtue Star

The Yin Virtue Star (阴德) has a very special place in Chinese culture.
When one is seen to have committed an unkind act such as cursing another or talking behind a person’s back, he or she will be advised to ‘cultivate’ the Yin Virtue (积阴德) . This very act alone is so synonymous with making amends of one’s mistakes that it is believed the presence of the Yin Virtue Star will alleviate one’s repercussions for his misdeeds.

Spring Arrives(立春)
The arrival of spring falls officially on 4th February 2012 according to the solar calendar. It not only marks the beginning of the new year of the Water Dragon but also offer a set of brand new energies.
The Year of the Water Dragon(壬辰) will be celebrated in the Lunar New Year, which falls on 23rd January 2012. Chinese all over the world welcome Lunar New Year(农历新年)as a time to be joyous, an occasion to forgive, a period of gratitude and an opportunity to change one’s life for the better.
The Lunar New Year arrives with a breath of new beginnings & a chance to start afresh. This is your one shot at a new resolution, increasing your wealth, paying off debts, ending a feud, renewing harmony, tidy loose ends and turning over a new leaf. Everyone is entitled, regardless of his past, status or position.
